-The most interesting or surprising information you learned about cyberbullying

Week of October 3

All six assignments below are due by Friday of this week. Each day you will be given a benchmark for completion, but your group may work ahead.
1. Review both rubrics below.




2. Decide on the format of the presentation (e.g. iMovie, Children's Book, Museum Box, website, etc.).
3. Click on this link to complete a form which asks for the presentation format, as well as the contributions each member will make towards the presentation.
4. Create a storyboard and show your teacher when it is completed.


5. Create the presentation.
6. Share your presentation with the teacher using this form.

Week of September 26thCyberbullying Project
Welcome to the cyberbullying project! Throughout this assignment, you will use your cooperative skills to investigate the very serious topic of cyberbullying. Many of you may have already skimmed the surface when it comes to learning about cyberbullying, and the majority of you have most likely heard this term numerous times at school and on the news. You will apply your technology and research prowess to investigate cyberbullying and to create a multimedia presentation for the class. Visit the WebQuest below for details about this project.
MONDAY
Assignment 1:
You'll need to wear your headphones. Take the Cyberbullying Quiz. Choose the "review quiz." Take your time.
-Click "watch the video" at the end of the quiz. When you finish, grab a marker and write one point about cyberbullying on the side board by the computer cart. Put your initials next to your contribution.

Assignment 2:
Choose two of the articles below to read. After reading you will craft a detailed response that answers the question below. Use what you learn from reading the articles to answer the question. Be sure to cite specific examples from what you've read. You should include at least 2 specific examples from each of the 2 articles you read (that's 4 specific examples total). Additionally, I would like you to respond to this question personally. Your total response will be three paragraphs. You must include the links to the articles you read. Write your response in Google docs, title it "username.articleresponse" and share your document with Mrs. Detwiler (bdetwiler@cypanthers.org).

1. Meet with your cyberbullying project groups.
2. Revisit the Cyberbullying WebQuest.

4. Only one group member needs to fill in the chart, but all group members must help complete it.
5. Save the chart as your last names.responsibilities and drop this into my drop box in the appropriate class.

Today is work day #1 for your project. Your benchmark for today is to begin the research for your project. Each person must have at least 10 pieces of information on the wiki by the end of class.

Week of September 19thActivity 1
Create a blog post on your blog titled "Cyberbullying Videos." As you watch the videos, create a blog that responds to the content of the videos in your own words.
When instructed, you and your group mates will post a comment on each other's blogs. The goal is that everyone at your table will have one comment, so it is up to you who comments on whose blog. Use the "Blogspot URLs" page to access other blogs.

When you comment, be sure to follow these guidelines:
Comments must be beneficial to the author. (Do not say, "I like what you wrote.")
Comments must be academic in nature. (Do not say, "Hey," "What's up," "You're awesome," etc.)
You must reference the post in your comment.
NOT ALLOWED:
Comments to the person not about the post (ex. "Hi, Sarah" or "You're Awesome")
Criticisms without supporting your reasoning --> You can disagree, but you must do it
politely while supporting your reasoning.

Assignment 2
While watching the Bullied video, comment in a blog posting your thoughts. (Think talking to the text, except talking to the movie.) You need 7-10 comments for the 40 minute video. Your comments should reflect your thoughts on the video. Do not tell me what the video is about.


Assignment 3
Read one of the articles from my Delicious Page with a cyberbullying_articles tag. After reading the article, create a new post on your individual blog. Title the blog Cyberbully Article. Your post should include a 3-5 sentence summary and a 5-7 sentence reflection. In your posting, make sure you include the title of the article you read.
